Lisa Donahue - Worksite Wellness Lisa Marie Donohue has served as the Director / Catalyst of the Rutland County Worksite Wellness Initiative since June of 2000. The initiative has been sponsored by the Rutland Chamber of Commerce & Rutland Community programs and aims to mobilize workforce populations and the community towards healthier choices and behaviors. As of January 1, 2005 - The name has changed to the "Hands on Health Network".

A native of Buffalo, New York, Lisa holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Canisius College of Buffalo and a dual Masters Degree in Health Promotion and Marketing from The Ohio State University. She brings to the region nearly 17 years of experience in holistically oriented worksite wellness and community health promotion programming, having developed and implemented over 120 wellness programs and health education events within corporations, communities, and schools in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Georgia. In addition, Lisa has also been a New York State licensed massage therapist for 11 years and is a co-owner of the Thrive Center of the Green Mountains, Wallingford.

She is often a speaker / facilitator at national wellness conferences, seminars and workshops, as well as, an author of health promotion oriented articles and educational materials on the topics of self care, stress reduction, spirituality and life balance...Which are really her topics of passion!

While living in Georgia from 1997 - 2000 she was an adjunct faculty member for the University of Georgia @ Kennesaw in the department of Health & Human Services; New Life Institute; and a health promotion instructor for Kaiser Permanente. In 1995 she was awarded a 3 year grant from the [N.Y.S. ] Dept. of Health - focusing on cardiac risk behavior changes - based on an innovative industrial park model, which she pioneered as a niche specific opportunity for small companies. For the last seven years Lisa has had 40 worksite health promotion programs & services reimbursed by HMOs and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of W.N.Y., Inc. Most recently [June 1, 2000 - December 31, 2004], she executed a James T. Bowse Health Trust grant to improve the cardiovascular health of the region.

Lisa also serves as an associate professor @ Castleton State College, writes a regular health promotion column for the RRCOC's Courier Newsletter, and plays host on Ch. 15's Heart of the Matter. Excitedly, Lisa & the Rutland region, along with 3 other communities in the US were highlighted in the November 1st edition of WOMAN'S DAY magazine ~ on the topic of WALKING.

Lisa enjoys camping, serving on the national ski patrol [18 years], patroning the arts, gardening / landscaping, horseback riding, sailing, traveling, creative projects, and many other outdoor activities. Friends and colleagues call her the "great connector" which brings her a smile each time.
