Calling All Skellies for Halloween Parade

Calling All Skellies for Halloween Parade

Drum Journeys of Earth will hold a Halloween Parade planning meeting on Saturday, September 26, 9am to 10:30am at Rhythm Hall, 2nd Floor, Bldg. 5, Howe Center, 1 Scale Ave, Rutland.

Drum Journeys of Earth and its students are widely known for leading the Rutland Halloween Parade as the Drumming Skeletons.

To join us, you don’t need any prior experience. If you can walk, you can be part of this parade. For those with special skills, we specifically need carpenters, lighting pros, seamstresses, artists and more. For the special “floor show” this year, we need jugglers, magicians, rollerbladers/skaters, stilt walkers, firebreathers, unicyclists, puppeteers and more. If you have a special talent, join our planning meeting.

If you’re interested, don’t wait – please join us at the meeting. Or, contact Gary Meitrott at 802-282-2581, or GaryMeitrott@vermontel.net.

Drum Journeys of Earth is dedicated to creating community through drumming. The recognition gained from this Halloween parade, helps DJE provide classes and performances to bring music and the arts to citizens of Rutland County.

DJE offers a variety of ethnic drum and percussion in the Rutland area, including West African Djembe, Afro-Cuban Conga, Middle Eastern Doumbek, Brazilian Samba, body and trash percussion, hand drumming and ritual hand drumming. For more information, please call 802-235-2400, or email Gary at GaryMeitrott@vermontel.net.
