Get in the holiday spirit with the Vermont Holiday Festival, returning this year on December 7 and 8, 2018. The Vermont Holiday Festival features close to 100 beautifully decorated Christmas trees for visitors to enjoy. School age children can create a holiday keepsake in Santa’s Workshop and meet Santa himself, or sit for story time with Mrs. Claus. Families can take a horse drawn wagon ride around the base of Killington Mountain or stay inside and enjoy the live music and many vendors. The Chaffee Art Center invites the community to our Holiday Exhibit Opening Reception on November 30th from 5pm to 7pm. This event is free for all to attend. Come experience the beauty of the arts showcased in our 1890’s historic mansion decorated special for the holiday season. The exhibit includes a Gift Room perfect for that one-of-a-kind handmade treasure to give to those on your list.
Also on display will be Gingerbread creations with the return of the Chaffee’s Gingerbread Contest. Awards will be presented in a variety of categories during the Opening. All are invited to submit their imaginative creations.
Please plan on joining us in celebrating the talented artists in our community at the November 30th Opening Reception. Mingle with artists and community members while enjoying food tastings, beverages, music, art and gingerbread displays. Some of the beautiful art on display will be oils, watercolor, ceramics, photography, mixed media, stained glass, sculpture and more. In the spirit of the season, a non perishable food item donation would be gratefully accepted
The Holiday Exhibit will be on display through January 5th. A special thank you to Rutland Garden Club for bringing the Chaffee mansion alive with the magic of the holiday season.
The fair brings together a diverse group of craft and food creators, offering reasonable-priced Christmas wreaths and decor; crafts in fiber, fabric, wood and glass; jewelry; baked goods and specialty foods with the flavor of Vermont; prepared foods, apples, cider and veggies.
