Kashmir, The Live Led Zeppelin Show

Kashmir, The Live Led Zeppelin Show

JAN 19 2019

8:00 PM

Tickets: $29 & $39

Kashmir, The Live Led Zeppelin Show was created by vocalist Jean Violet back in 2000. It has grown from the streets of New York City to now being one of the top Led Zeppelin Tribute bands touring nationally and internationally. Kashmir’s primary focus is capturing the live performance and raw energy of a Led Zeppelin show.
Time and time again audience members who meet and greet with Kashmir after a show tell them how they felt as if they went back in time to a Led Zeppelin concert that they attended or how younger members of the audience will tell the band how it was the closest experience that they will ever get to a Live Led Zeppelin performance.
Yes the singer looks and sounds a lot like Robert Plant and the band shares the authenticity, appearance and sound of the great Led Zeppelin but more importantly the band wants to share the energy and the experience that Led Zeppelin created while on tour. The band calls it “The Zone” and they want everyone to share that same electromagnetic experience after leaving a Kashmir show like so many Zep fans did in the past while watching the great Led Zeppelin on stage!

98 Degrees at Christmas

98 Degrees at Christmas

DEC 17 2018

8:00 PM

Tickets: $65 – $85

In five short years — from 1997 to 2002 — 98° sold a staggering 10 million records, scored a chart-topping single, “Thank God I Found You,” with Mariah Carey and Joe, and collaborated with their collective idol, Stevie Wonder, on “True to Your Heart,” for the 1998 animated Disney film, Mulan. Their four-million-selling album, 98° and Rising (1998, Motown), spawned the top-5 favorites “Because of You,” “I Do,” and “The Hardest Thing,” while 2000’s Revelation (Universal Records), which sold two million copies, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and yielded a trio of hits, “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” “My Everything” and “The Way You Want Me To.”

Last year, the quartet released their first full-length Christmas album in 18 years, Let It Snow, via UMe to glowing reviews from both fans and critics alike. The album featured the group’s signature R&B-tinged, four-part harmonies and was a natural follow up to their 1999 multi-platinum selling This Christmas. The band embarked on a highly successful 31-city tour across the U.S. in support of their Christmas album in addition to their performances on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney’s Magic Holiday Celebration, Good Morning America, Today Show, Kelly & Ryan and more.

Over the past 15 years, all four members have enjoyed other careers outside of music. Nick, who was recently on Season 25 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and launched a successful solo music career and has starred on TV shows both as an actor (The WB’s Charmed and One Tree Hill) and as a television host (VH-1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, NBC’s The Sing-Off). Drew was crowned season two winner of Dancing with the Stars, been on Broadway, and both brothers opened Lachey’s Bar (A&E). Timmons joined members of Backstreet Boys and ‘NSYNC for VH-1’s Mission Man Band and Nick Carter’s Sci-Fi feature, Dead Seven. Jeffrey is involved in various media and cause related projects stemming from his foray into politics as a mayoral candidate of Cincinnati.

Newsies, The Broadway Musical

Rutland Youth Theatre presents Newsies, the Broadway Musical to celebrate the holidays, December 14th and 15th at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland.

It’s time to carry the banner! Produced and directed by Saskia Hagen Groom, musical directed by Saige King and choreographed by Tegan Waite, Newsies, the Broadway Musical is based on the true historical strike of newspaper boys in NYC in 1899. The story is set in turn-of-the century New York City, and tells the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right!

The newspaper boys’ strike of 1899 was a youth-led campaign to force change in the way that Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst’s newspapers compensated their child labor force of newspaper hawkers. The strike lasted two weeks, causing Pulitzer’s New York World to reduce its circulation from 360,000 to 125,000.

The story is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Stage Manager is Barb Lassen.

Show times at the Paramount Theatre are December 14th 7pm and December 15th 2pm and 7pm at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland. Tickets just $10 for children and seniors, $12 for adults at www.paramountvt.org.
