Vermont Great 2.4.6.8k Run and Walk

The 2nd Annual Vermont Great 2.4.6.8k Run & Walk will be taking place on Saturday, September 15th in downtown Rutland.

Registration begins at 8:30am and the race will start at 10:30am. Visit www.active.com to register!

The race will start and end on Center Street. Advanced registration fee is $25 and $30 the day of the race.

Runners and walkers can participate individually or as part of a group, and select the distance (2.4.6. or 8k) that best fits their abilities.

The entire race route is posted on the RRMC Facebook page and on their website at www.rrmc.org.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Foley Cancer Center at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

We encourage those participating, and those cheering on the racers/walkers, to take advantage of the fun activities and food options after the race. The Rutland Farmer’s Market will be in full swing and there will be a Shriner’s Parade at 2pm. To round out the day the Green Street Challenge will be creating a natural play space for children and families on Center Street complete with green grass.

RRMC Community Resource Fair

RRMC Community Resource Fair

Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) is making it easier for local community members to access multiple agencies in one location. On Monday, March 12th, from 1-4pm, RRMC’s Social Work Department will be hosting a free, Community Resource Fair in the CVPS/Leahy Community Health Education Center.

Many local nonprofit agencies and organizations will be represented from areas such as transportation, behavioral health, substance abuse, home health and nursing services, housing, community action, food security, and pediatrics.

This event will give individuals an opportunity to have face time with these organizations to ask questions and take away valuable resources and information. Over 28 vendors will be represented.

The Vermont Great 2-4-6-8K Run, Walk, Relay is a chance to enjoy all that downtown Rutland has to offer.

Please join us for an afternoon and evening of health, fun, and socializing, all while benefiting Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Foley Cancer Center.

Raise awareness and funds by running in honor of a friend or loved one who can’t be there.

The race course loops you around and through historic downtown Rutland.  The various distances make this an event for all fitness levels.

Enjoy the post-race party featuring food, beer, music.  Individual and team photos will be available.

This will be a truly inspiring program & an opportunity for you to help make in a difference.

Are you the primary food shopper in your household?
Yes? Keep reading.

The Northeast Organic Farmers Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) is looking for participants, ages 25+, to provide insight about food shopping habits and beliefs, related to locally grown and organic foods.

This focus group will be held at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Conference Room D, located at 160 Allen Street, Rutland Vermont 05701, on Saturday, September 23rd, from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM (EST). Participants will receive light refreshments and an incentive of $30. 

We are currently looking for a broad range of focus group participants. If you are interested, you can fill out a short questionnaire to indicate your availability and willingness to participate.

Ribbon Cutting Celebration – RRMC ER Renovation Completion

Rutland Regional Medical Center is undertaking a $6 million expansion of its emergency room to meet growing demand and the changing needs of patients.

The number of emergency treatment rooms has been increased from 19 to 26 with the new addition designed for five behavioral health treatment rooms and two isolation rooms that can be converted to behavioral health rooms.

In addition, the lobby area will be secured for the safety of patients, visitors and staff by creating a controlled access to public waiting areas. A new security office will be added along with enhanced security measures. Total estimated project costs are just over $6 million.
