For the past five years, Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (formerly Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce and Rutland Economic Development Corporation) has been working to attract new individuals and families into Rutland County through our Regional Marketing Initiative – Real Rutland. The campaign just wrapped up its fifth year of what is currently a ten-year plan and CEDRR has reached that time of year where we’re seeking sponsors for the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
The third Wednesday in October is Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day to celebrate the great work happening across the nation by our local Chamber of Commerce organizations. Today we would like to highlight some of our accomplishments this past year, reintroduce you to our staff, and also thank our fellow Chamber of Commerce organizations that we are fortunate to work with regularly across Vermont.
Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is celebrating its first year as a merged organization this October and is reflecting on the work that has taken place. Over the course of the past year, CEDRR continued to collaborate with regional partners to help pave the way for growth in our county. CEDRR continues to pursue the goal of ensuring that the Rutland Region is the best place to live, work, play and grow a business. We have done so with clear statements supporting declarations of inclusion and welcoming refugees, as well as recognizing Castleton University’s impact on our communities.
Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) and Castleton University have launched the CEDRR Intern Hub, an innovative space located in Downtown Rutland, which will provide Castleton students with greater access and opportunities for experiential learning with employers throughout the region and beyond.

The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is in full support of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants’/Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program and its role in establishing a Reception and Placement program site in Rutland, Vermont.
While some of our larger events may have shifted in the last few weeks, one exciting offering, originally planned to launch at our Parade of Heroes + Community Celebration on Aug. 28, is still in full swing. The staff at Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR), along with The Paramount Theatre and Come Alive Outside, are excited to announce the first annual Fruits of Labor Community Raffle.
On Friday, August 27th, the staff from the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) delivered thank you cards and cases of whoopie pies to essential workers whose organizations had signed up to march in the Parade of Heroes & Community Celebration presented by Heritage Family Credit Union originally scheduled for Saturday, August 28th.
