CAREER AND PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The REI Coordinator will oversee our Re-Entry Navigation program which is designed to enhance community reintegration for formerly incarcerated individuals, providing short-term, intensive support primarily in the first three months post-release. The role involves identifying and connecting participants with necessary community services, providing referrals, and fostering relationships with community partners to support successful reintegration. In addition to direct assistance, the program integrates volunteer support, focusing on areas such as transportation, schooling, and life skills. The program aims to provide services for up to one year, ensuring that individuals receive the resources they need for a successful transition into the community. Additionally, the REI Coordinator will work within correctional facilities to design and implement restorative justice initiatives in collaboration with facility staff and incarcerated individuals. The goal is to foster healthier relationships, address conflicts, and promote empathy through structured restorative processes. The program will also provide training for incarcerated individuals and staff on restorative justice principles, the available community services, and how to engage in restorative dialogues effectively. This will include screening participants for programs that could be appropriate for them both pre- and post-adjudication. HIRING TIMELINE FOR 7/1/2025 START DATE: 4/11/2025 – 4/25/2025 Accepting Applications via How to Apply 4/28/2025 – 5/2/2025 Application Review 5/5/2025 – 5/9/2025 First Round Interviews 5/12/2025 – 5/16/2025 Second Round Interviews 5/19/2025 – 5/23/2025 Reference Checks 6/3/2025 – Finalists Meet the Full Team in-person 6/4/2025 – 6/6/2025 Final Selection RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Reentry Navigation: • Community Connections & Referrals: Assist formerly incarcerated individuals in identifying and connecting with relevant community services, such as housing, employment, healthcare, and substance use treatment. • Short-Term Intensive Support: Build trust-based relationships with clients in order to provide the greatest level of assistance during the first three months after release, helping individuals navigate their new environments and community resources. • Volunteer Integration: Engage community volunteers as needed, especially for transportation and assisting with life skills development (e.g., financial literacy, job readiness). • Case Management Coordination: Ensure that reentry navigation services do not duplicate existing case management services provided by the State, coordinating efforts with state agencies to avoid service overlap. • Documentation & Reporting: Track participant progress and document interactions, services provided, and outcomes. Prepare reports for stakeholders and funding agencies. • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Maintain strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and government entities to facilitate resource sharing and ensure comprehensive service delivery. • Long-Term Support: Provide services for up to one year, ensuring participants have continued access to support as they adjust to life outside of incarceration. Facility-Based Restorative Practices: • Training & Education: Collaborate with correctional facility staff to develop and deliver training in restorative practices for incarcerated individuals and facility personnel. • Facilitation of Restorative Processes: Facilitate restorative processes within the facility to help incarcerated individuals build relationships, address conflicts, and deepen empathy for victims and affected parties. • Community Services Education: Educate incarcerated individuals on available community resources that can assist with their reentry once released, ensuring they are aware of the services they can access. • Conflict Resolution: Facilitate restorative dialogues to address grievances, promote understanding, and foster empathy between incarcerated individuals. • Collaborative Program Development: Work closely with correctional staff to design and implement restorative justice processes that meet the needs of the facility and its residents. • Evaluation of Impact: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of programs within the facility, tracking outcomes related to conflict resolution, empathy-building, etc. • Generate mandated reports: When necessary generate Child Protective Services, PREA, and/or Adult Protective Services in compliance with legal requirements. • Screen Incarcerated Individuals: Screen incarcerated individuals both pre- and post- adjudication for appropriate interventions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work, mediation/peace keeping education, or a related field and 1-2 years of case management experience with similar populations. -OR- High School Diploma/GED and 3-5 years of case management experience with similar populations. *Not all people will meet all these qualifications, if you still think you would be a good fit, please apply! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Deep commitment to integrating equity into all aspects of program development, community engagement, and training. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing volunteers. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Experience in risk management, conflict resolution, and handling sensitive information. • Excellent facilitation, teaching, or training experience. • Ability to collaborate effectively with DOC, correctional facilities, and community organizations. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain organized records. • Knowledge of local resources and support services for individuals reintegrating into society after incarceration. • Analytical skills to assess program effectiveness through data, feedback, and outcomes. • Experience preparing detailed reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders, including data-driven insights and narratives. • Technological proficiency in: Microsoft Suite, Canva, Share Point, and state-related CRMs • Can pass a background check/be fingerprinted, have a valid driver’s license and vehicle that they are willing to transport clients / volunteers in, and can work in the US. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience working with historically marginalized communities and a demonstrated ability to address systemic barriers. • Experience in co-leading the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of restorative justice programs that focus on community healing, accountability, and conflict resolution. • Familiarity with the criminal justice system • Experience in recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers.
