The Inclusion Coordinator is directly responsible for overseeing a coordinated approach to providing inclusion services necessary for Early Head Start and Head Start children to be successful in the classroom. The Inclusion coordinator supports all students to ensure the success of each student in an inclusive classroom environment. Collaborates with teaching a team, classroom supervisors and Education manager to ensure behavior supports are met. Collaborates with Education Manager and local IDEA to support individualized needs being met. Conduct classroom observations and provide classroom teams with individualized support as needed.

Responsibilities for the Inclusion Coordinator include:
- Observe classrooms and meet with classroom teams on a monthly basis to provide individualized support.
- Input BIR data into spreadsheet, analyze and provide support and feedback to classroom teams.
- Coordinates with appropriate staff to train teaching staff to modify the environment and activities to remove barriers for inclusion of children with disabilities in the full range of program activities.
- Performs and documents observations to inform individualized educational planning.
- Guide staff on how to assist children with different abilities in daily needs and hygiene including feeding, positioning, toileting, hand washing, etc.
- Meet regularly with the Education Management team.
- Input IFSP/IEPs into Childplus data system.
- Coordinate and run behavioral support planning if a need arises. Set specific goals for the individual with involved staff members. Then run follow up meetings when needed and complete observations and feedback to support the plan.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Public Health, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of Head Start standards and licensing standards (preferred)
- Familiarity with child development and childhood health programs and systems.
- Knowledge and implementation of adult learning principles and teaching techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative, professional working relationship with staff, parents, and other agencies.
- Ability to work successfully in a highly regulated environment.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and other software programs if applicable.
