Carpenter & Costin, a renowned leader in hardscape design, landscape design, landscape maintenance, and snow management, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Fleet Mechanic. This role involves managing our maintenance department and medium-sized fleet, ensuring efficiency and optimal performance. This is an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team. Responsibilities Direct and assess work assignments for the entire maintenance department, including 3rd party and warranty support. Oversee daily operations of the shop, ensuring productivity, safety, and cleanliness. Communicate maintenance schedules to team leaders and owners, keeping them informed about available assets. Take a proactive approach in parts ordering, scheduling, and equipment repairs to minimize downtime. Perform maintenance tasks in both workshop and field settings to keep production moving. Qualifications Minimum of five years’ experience in a fleet maintenance environment. At least three years of experience in a supervisory maintenance role. Proficiency in working with diesel engines, gas engines, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and emission systems. Ability to accurately troubleshoot and diagnose various systems using appropriate tools. Familiarity with FMCSA DOT regulations is a plus. Valid driver’s license. Physical ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads. Willingness to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
