Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation and a passion for the food industry. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook must work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that food is prepared quickly and accurately. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards. Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the restaurant’s presentation and taste specifications. Follow portion control guidelines and minimize waste. Station Management: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift. Break down and clean the station thoroughly at the end of each shift. Quality Control: Monitor food stock and place orders as needed. Inspect food items for quality and freshness. Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items to prevent spoilage. Team Collaboration: Work in collaboration with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen team regarding any issues or needs. Assist other stations when necessary. Health and Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager. Customer Service: Assist in maintaining positive customer relations by providing high-quality food and service. Address customer concerns and special requests in a professional manner. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role. Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Food handler’s certification is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment: The work environment is fast-paced. The Line Cook must be able to handle the physical demands and stress of working in this type of environment.
