Hello Chamber Members!
The spring finds us very busy with lots of new projects!
First – if you are interested in signing up for our FACES Directory 2018, don’t delay!
The Chamber is involved with the “Stay to Stay” pilot program with the Vermont Department of Tourism in which three communities (Bennington and Brattleboro too) host people interested in moving to our area. Those wishing to participate sign up to stay in one of our lodging partners for 3 days – Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We introduce them to the community at a reception on Friday Night, they do whatever activities they would like on Saturday and Sunday and then on Monday we schedule meetings with potential employers, realtors or The Mint. We had our first family arrive last Friday night and 30 people attended the reception to welcome them. Some had been here 1 year, some 40. All had something wonderful to share about this place we call home.
The next “Stay to Stay” weekend will be held August 10-13th. With the announcement of the Governor’s new program to offer remote workers grant money to move to our state, we had interest in the “Stay to Stay” increase 10 fold – from 120 people to now over 1,000 – in just one day! We will keep a close eye on the remote worker incentive and connect with the visitors that come to our region with this program.
We are heading into year 2 of our Regional Marketing Initiative and are meeting with Mondo MediaWorks to discuss the next year’s creative direction. The Real Rutland Campaign and the Killington Valley Brand are gaining in recognition and engagement. Remember this is a 10 year campaign to help attract people and workforce to our region!
Winter in August is right around the Corner – AUGUST 14th! and we are looking forward to another magnificent event on Merchants Row! If you want an opportunity to get your business in front of big crowd, host a table at the event – all you need to do is provide some food! Find out more by contacting Penny at the Chamber!
Thanks very much for your continued support of the Rutland Region Chamber. We appreciate your membership and look forward to promoting you and our region!
