Hello Chamber Members!
The air is getting crisper and the leaves are putting on their show and here at the Chamber we are extremely excited about so many things!
First and foremost, our Annual Meeting is happening October 19th at the Paramount Theatre. We are truly thankful to GE Aviation for their continued sponsorship of this annual event. We are thrilled to be honoring Tom Huebner, President of the Rutland Regional Medical Center. Under Tom’s leadership, the RRMC has grown to the largest employer in our county. There have been numerous industry awards, a recent one being “The Best Regional Hospital” by US News and World Report. His vision for our hospital through the tumultuous health care landscape has provided us with a community resource second to none.
But to me, it has been Tom’s steadfast dedication to not only making RRMC the best it can be but his dedication to our community. When asked, he doesn’t shy away from contributing – as a Celebrity Waiter or as a contestant at the Newlywed Game benefiting local area food shelves. He has served on so many local boards and has spent many hours dedicating his time and skills to local organizations. We are delighted to recognize him as Business Leader of the Year!
We and our partner, Rutland Economic Development Corporation, are also ecstatic to share our new marketing messages during the Annual Meeting. It has been so hard to keep these messages under wraps and we can’t wait to be able to share them freely! It certainly has been an exciting process and we truly appreciate all our partners and collaborators that have contributed to this Regional Marketing Initiative.
We are also thrilled to have Bill Shouldice, CEO of Vermont Teddy Bear and Chairman of the Vermont Futures Foundation featured as our keynote speaker! With his statewide perspective, Bill has been and continues to be a huge supporter of the Rutland Region and often champions our region in other parts of the state. I am eager to hear what inspiring things he has to say!
Congratulations to all the Vermont Business Magazine’s RISING STARS! The young professionals in our region are clearly dedicated to making this a great place to be and their willingness to give back to our community is tremendous! Once again, the Rutland Region has a very strong showing – 9 out of 40!! It is a testament to the strong presence of the RYP organization!
Please plan on attending the annual meeting – we can’t wait to show you what we have been up to!
