Annual Letter Carrier’s Food Drive – Stamp Out Hunger

On Saturday, May 12, 2018, the National Association of Letter Carriers will host its annual “Stamp out Hunger” food drive.

The National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch #495 will be collecting non-perishable food items on that Saturday for distribution to food shelves in our Rutland County communities.

Please place a food donation by your mailbox on Saturday and your local letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to the food shelves.

This event is a collaboration between our Rutland County United States Postal Service letter carriers, the United Way of Rutland County, the Rutland Community Cupboard, the Salvation Army, Fair Haven Concerned and BROC.

Lip Sync Battle

Lip Sync Battle

We’re excited to bring you a generous portion of play on Saturday, May 5th at 6 p.m.

A Lip Sync Battle live on stage at the Paramount Theatre will be an evening of entertainment a speculative audience will regret to have missed. Teams of local residents will lift spirits and show off our vibrant community.

Rutland Rugby Club
Rutland GE Aviation Employee Activities Association
Regional Ambulance Service, Inc.

Teams will gear up for a night of determination, sheer talent and fun. Judges will award points for accuracy, creativity, and choreography to select the semi-finalists. The audience will participate by text-to-vote to select the winning team. With much anticipation and team preparation, these teams promise to put on a great show and work hard for your votes.

All proceeds will benefit Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum, located at 11 Center Street in Rutland, operations including outreach and ongoing exhibits and programs to meet the needs of our community.

For the Love of Dogs Variety Show

Lesli Hyland and her team of talented dog lovers will be performing with their four legged friends in front of a live audience on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Performances will start at 1 pm on stage at the Rutland Intermediate School Auditorium.

Be amazed by dancing, music, tricks and more!

Tickets are $10 for adults and FREE for children!

ALL proceeds will benefit the homeless animals at the Rutland County Humane Society.

12th Annual Soup Bowls for Hunger

Enjoy a bowl of soup, crackers, roll, dessert, beverage and choose your own handcrafted bowl to take home.

Sponsored by Delta Kappa Gamma Society of women educators.

Tickets are $20 per person (make checks payable to Soup Bowls for Hunger) and must be purchased in advance.

There will be two sittings this year (4:45 pm and 6:15 pm) with top quality bowls available at each sitting.

There will also be raffles for various donated items and a silent auction.

Music provided by Daniel Luther Graves.

To purchase tickets call Rutland High School Main Office at 773-1955, Ann Bannister at 747-0569, or Susan Ponto at 779-5919, beginning March 1st.

Tickets may also be purchased at Phoenix Books in Rutland.

All proceeds will be donated to The Community Cupboard, BROC, Brandon, Pittsford, Poultney, and West Rutland food shelves.

Tinmouth Volunteer Fire Department 49th Game Supper

Tinmouth Volunteer Fire Department’s 49th Annual Game Supper is Saturday November 18.

This famous Vermont event is held at the Tinmouth Community Center, 573 Route 140, Tinmouth beginning at 4 p.m.

Gourmet all you can eat menu includes: venison and moose sauerbraten, game cornbread chili, secret marinated roasts of venison, moose, and bear, smoked moose, wild Italian meatballs. Also: chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes and squash, salads, rolls, beans, and over 100 homemade pies.

Takeouts available.

$15, children 6-12 $10, under 6 free

Earlybirds welcome. No waiting outside. Over 500 served.

This event is the major fundraiser for the Tinmouth Volunteer Fire Dept.

Sara’s Stories Chili Cook Off

It is time for the 2nd annual Chili Cook-Off to benefit Sara’s Stories!

Sara’s Stories is a program in Pittsford that gives books to residents ages 0-5 throughout the year, in memory of Sara Gallipo.

Saturday, October 14th at 11:30 am

Lothrop Elementary School Gym, 3447 US Route 7, Pittsford

1st Prize: $250

2nd Prize: $150

3rd Prize: $75

Registration begins at 11:00 am.

Please bring a crockpot of chili, a serving spoon and $5 to enter your chili. Or come and make a donation at the door to taste and vote for your favorite chili!

Great family fun for a great cause! Come and get your Sara’s Stories book for the month of October at this event too!

7th Annual Bella Notte: A Beautiful Night for Giving

The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Southwest Region requests the honor of your presence at an evening of celebration.

Come enjoy good company, fine fare, laughter, and the excitement of a live auction on Sunday, September 24th graciously hosted by Wally Sabotka at theSouthside Steakhouse in Rutland.

Cocktails at 5pm, dinner at 6pm with the live action to follow.

Proceeds benefit our Hospice Program and help offset the costs of charitable and underinsured care,  therapies and comfort items for hospice patients, medical equipment, bereavement support and staff, volunteer and community education.
