Announcing the 2017 Solar Plunge at Lake St. Catherine State Park, Saturday, July 22nd, 1pm-4pm!

Join us for an afternoon of fun with water activities, races, food, and music. Solar power companies will exhibit and participate as well.

Proceeds to benefit the food shelves of Poultney and Wells.

Come as a friends and family team or sign up with your favorite area business. Look for our solar plunge signs around town and inquire within!

Also, it’s rain or shine – barring thunderstorms of course!

Will they be able to defeat him and will they find Paradise Falls?

7th Annual Long Trail Century Ride to Benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports

The Long Trail Century Ride to Benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports returns again with an all-day event including cycling on 100-, 60-, 20- mile and a family-friendly 5K routes in the morning and a family-friendly festival and party in the afternoon with BBQ, live music, farmers market vendors, kids activities, silent auction and more.

Register BY June 1 to receive a one-day non-holiday/peak lift ticket voucher to Killington Resort for the 2017-2018 winter season.

 Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports is a nationally recognized organization that empowers people of all abilities through inclusive sports and recreational programming regardless of ability to pay. In addition to sports, year round programming options integrate environmental, holistic wellness, and competitive training philosophies for people of all ages with cognitive, developmental, physical and emotional behavioral disabilities.

The proceeds from this ride will help provide year-round sports and recreational programming and equipment for those with disabilities and allow them to enjoy the outdoor activities and sports that many of us take for granted. The goal is to raise $225,000 from this event.

25th Annual Letter Carrier’s Food Drive – Stamp Out Hunger

On Saturday, May 13, 2017, the National Association of Letter Carriers will host its 25th annual “Stamp out Hunger” food drive.

The National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch #495 will be collecting non-perishable food items on that Saturday for distribution to food shelves in our Rutland County communities.

Please place a food donation by your mailbox on Saturday and your local letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to the food shelves.

This event is a collaboration between our Rutland County United States Postal Service letter carriers, the United Way of Rutland County, the Rutland Community Cupboard, the Salvation Army, Fair Haven Concerned and BROC.

All proceeds benefit CSJ’s Provider Scholarship Program, which provides students with financial aid in exchange for community engagement, academic curiosity and more.

A Lip Sync Battle live on stage at the Paramount Theatre will be an evening of entertainment a speculative audience will regret to have missed.

Teams of local residents will lift spirits and show off our vibrant community.

The audience will participate by text-to-vote to select the winning team. With much anticipation and team preparation, these teams promise to put on a great show and work hard for your votes.
