Silent Movie…Buster Keaton in “Spite Marriage”(1929)

Silent Movie…Buster Keaton in “Spite Marriage”(1929)

Our opening event for the 2016 season at the Brandon Town Hall is the first of six Silent Movies featuring Buster Keaton in “Spite Marriage” (1929) plus comedy short subjects on Saturday, May 14 at 7:00 pm.

Keaton’s final silent feature finds the poker-faced comic smitten so much by stage actress Trilby Drew
(Dorothy Sebastian) that he joins the cast of her production. But the fun really begins when she impulsively asks Buster to marry her just to get even with an old flame. Classic Keaton comedy, underrated and full of great routines and featuring a shipboard climax reminiscent of Keaton’s classic comedy “The Navigator”.

Sponsored by Heritage Family Credit Union.

This is a free will donation event, donations are accepted and appreciated with all monies going towards the ongoing restoration and repair of the Town Hall.
