WinterFest Chili Cookoff

PUBLIC TASTING:
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
The chili tasting is FREE & open to the public!

CONTESTANTS: (NO entry fee)

Please include your name, contact number, and what division you are entering.

2 DIVISIONS:
Amateur (individual person)
Group (Businesses, Organizations, Clubs)

Check in / set up will begin at 10:30 am
Upon arrival come to the Chili Cook Off tent to get signed in!
Judging will begin at 12:00 pm

There will be a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prize for both divisions!
Prizes:
1st: $250
2nd: $150
3rd: $75

All contestants should bring a minimum of 5 gallons of chili
(enough for the judges & the public tasting)

All contestants must have a visible paper at their booth listing the type of Chili they have
– beef, pork, chicken, vegetarian, etc.
– hot, medium, or mild
– and a list of all ingredients (Not your recipe, or any increments, just what food is in the dish so anyone with a food allergy is aware)

Everyone will be responsible for their own equipment & utensils!
(tables, tents, pots, cooking utensils)
We do have power available at the park, but feel free to bring your own power / heating source!
Tasting cups & spoons will be provided for the public at each contestants booth.

All chili should be pre-cooked & just warmed for tasting at the event!

We cant wait to see everyone there & taste some amazing Chili!!

The Rutland Winter Fest features a week-and-a-half of activities to get the community involved in fun in the snow and out of the winter blues. Downtown activities include Center Street Night Sledding, where the street is closed to traffic and filled with snow for tubing, and the Center Street Story Walk, where children read the pages of a book in the windows of store fronts. Other activities throughout the week include ice skating, snow sculpting, chili cook-off, broom ball, art walk, Frosty Feet 5K, snow shoeing, Real Rutland Feud and more.

Winter Fest Snow Sculpture Contest

Gather your friends and carve some snow! This is a FREE event this year!

2 DIVISIONS
Amateur: Hasn’t entered sanctioned carving events in the past – Recreational Fun

Pro: Has entered sanctioned carving events in the past – Previous Competition experience

SCHEDULE
Amateur: Sat. 23rd from 10am-2pm (winner determined by Cairo Shriners)

Pro: Commence carving Fri. 22nd at 9am
– Lights provided for evening work (lights out 9pm Fri.)
– Sat 23rd all day and all night carve, carve, carve
– Carving finished Sun. 24 at 12pm (winner determined by people’s choice)

RULES
– All carving blocks will be 4’x4’x8’
– You may choose to have your block oriented vertically or horizontally.
– No power equipment may be utilized in creating your piece. Hand tools only
– You have the option to color and/or decorate your piece. This is not required
– No less than 1 and no more than 4 carvers can work on a piece at one time

FREE TO ENTER
Limit Space Available:
– Amateur: 8 blocks available
– Professional: 6 blocks available
Trophy’s for 1st & 2nd place

JUDGING
Amature: Cairo Shriners
Pro: Sculptors Choice (Criteria:Message, Creativity & Technical)

The Wonderfeet Winter Dance at The Palms for Loved Ones and Little Ones is just around the corner on February 24 from 4-6 p.m.
