Heaton & Fisch Dental Associates practice encompasses a full scope of general and cosmetic dentistry with expertise ranging from porcelain veneers to dental implants, crowns and bridges. Dr. Fisch, Dr. Heaton, and Dr. Jankunas will help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health with a smile you can be proud of.
Dr. Heaton is a native to Rutland and graduated from Rutland High School. He attended the University of Vermont for his Bachelor’s degree and graduated in 1980. His next step after undergraduate school was Geo
rgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC. There he met Dr Fisch, they married in 1983 and upon graduation from dental school, they both enlisted in the US Navy as dental officers for the next 4 ½ years. In 1989, they both joined the dental practice of David’s dad, Dr. Ronald Heaton, and together they have continued to treat the many patients that began with the original practice in the early 1960’s. Dave has been involved in the community and schools throughout the growth of their 4 children and they continue to reside in Rutland Town with their 2 youngest boys.
Dr. Fisch is grew up outside of Albany, NY and attended dental hygiene school in Syracuse, NY. Realizing she wanted to be a dentist she pursued her Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oswego and then went on to Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC. After 4 long and intense years of training, she and Dr Heaton began a new phase with the US Navy. Gaining considerable experience in dentistry as well as the Navy, they returned to Rutland and entered private practice with Dave’s dad. The practice was started by Dr Ronald Heaton in the early 1960’s and has served many residents of Rutland County for over 50 years! Dr Fisch is very involved with organized dentistry and is a past president of the Vermont State Dental Society and currently serves on the American Dental Association Board of Trustees representing the 6 New England States. With their 4 children, they have resided in Rutland Town since 1989 and continue to enjoy their life in Vermont.
Dr. Sigita Jankunas has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years. She graduated from Kaunas University of Medicine Faculty of Odontology in Lithuania in 1991 and practiced dentistry for 12 years in Kaunas before she moved to the US in 2003. In 2008 Dr. Jankunas graduated form University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco which allowed her to get licensed in the US. Dr. Jankunas practiced in Phoenix, AZ and Timmins, ON, Canada before joining Heaton and Fisch Dental Associates in May of 2016. Dr. Jankunas resides in Rutland with her husband and daughter. All three of them enjoy exploring beautiful Vermont.
