This semester, the Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is thrilled to welcome two new Castleton University interns, each bringing their own new ideas, talents, and energy to the team.
Casey Moon, a senior at Castleton University studying business administration will be working on a variety of projects including maintaining our online job board; the CEDRR Career Hub. The work Casey will be doing to maintain our Career Hub is vital to both local employers hiring, and those currently seeking jobs. The Career Hub is also a great asset for those not from the area who may be considering a move to Rutland County. Through this effort, Casey will work first-hand with regional employers, creating a broad network for himself as he prepares for his next move after graduation in May.
Maxwell Ingison, also a senior at Castleton University, is studying media and communications. He is filling a newly developed internship opportunity where he will be generating new content for CEDRR’s Regional Marketing Initiative: Real Rutland. Maxx is a talented photographer and videographer whose work is vital in showcasing the beauty of Rutland County. Maxx’s first project will be to capture real people doing things they love in each of our 27 towns throughout Rutland County. The goal of these pieces is to highlight what a great place Rutland County is to live, work, and play. To see some of Maxx’s recent work visit his website and stay tuned as we share some of his latest work!
CEDRR understands and appreciates the value of internships from both the employer and student perspectives. We are so grateful to Castleton University for their continued partnership and hard work in preparing students for the workforce. Last fall, CEDRR and Castleton University announced a newly developed partnership with an eye toward enhancing internship and career opportunities throughout the region. Students with valuable internship opportunities can gain critical work experience and are more likely to stay in the region. Employers are also benefiting from the creative talents of the students, and in many cases hire them directly post-graduation.
Brooke Rubright serves as a prime example of the success of internships. Brooke, a senior at Castleton University studying graphic design and media and communications, started as an intern for CEDRR (Rutland Economic Development Corporation at the time) in 2019. In September of 2020, she was officially hired on staff. Brooke now serves as the part-time Communications Assistant where develops CEDRR’s bi-weekly newsletter, maintains our website, and assists with our Regional Marketing Initiative.
