Learn – Connect – Celebrate with Vermont’s Women Owned Businesses
Monday, May 22, 2023 | Rutland, VT
StartUp Rutland, the region’s technology-driven business incubator located at The Hub CoWorks, is pleased to announce the hosting of the VtSBDC & VSBA She Means Business event.
Join us in Rutland as we showcase and support womxn-owned businesses with workshops, speed networking (QuickConnect) with lenders and resource providers, stops into downtown businesses, and an evening reception.
You decide how you will navigate your options for the day:
- 12-1:30 pm: Workshop: Building Your Business Model (see below for details)
- 1:30-3 pm: Workshop: 9 Steps to Increasing Awareness for Your Business & Ask Us Anything (see below for details)
- 3-4 pm: Rutland Business Hop (and the weekend before): Check out the area’s vibrant small business community. Pick-up a map at The Hub CoWorks (67 Merchants Row, Suite 201)
- 4-5:30 pm: QuickConnect: Connect with lenders and statewide service providers offering insights and materials to help your small business. Start collaborations and conversations with lenders, business advisors, and experts.
- 5:30-7 pm: Reception & Networking hosted by the Vermont Women’s Fund: Celebrate the day with food, fun, and continue your networking conversations.
All activities are free. Walk-ins are welcome but we kindly ask that you register so we can plan the day.

Building Your Business Model

In this 90-minute session, you’ll hear from Center for Women & Enterprise (home of VT’s Women’s Business Center) CNPP Project Manager, business coach, and social entrepreneur Faye Longo on all things Business Model Canvas. You’ll leave this workshop with a general and complete overview of what a Business Model Canvas is, a working draft of your own, a couple templates to build from, and connections for next steps!
Whether you’re a BMC guru or not sure what a Business Model Canvas is – this class is for you!
