Hello Chamber Members,
April and all this snow is not fooling me! I know spring will arrive sometime! And we will appreciate it even more so!
March was very busy with some very successful events including the Business Show at The Holiday Inn, the monthly mixer at Baxter’s at the Rutland Country Club, and a fun indoor golf tournament at Stonehedge Indoor Golf. Thanks to all the businesses who participated and supported these great events.
Our marketing campaign, THE REAL RUTLAND, is heading into the second year. At the end of the month we will be reviewing the past year and building on the strategy for year two. Look for more positive messaging about our region as we continue the path to growing our workforce.
Looking forward, the Rutland Chamber is very pleased to take part in the Vermont Department of Tourism Pilot Program “STAY TO STAY”. We have been chosen as one of three communities to welcome tourists who have some interest in staying for the weekend and looking into staying for good! Please help us get the word out to anyone you know who may be considering a move to our area and would like to make some connections to do so.
The Rutland Community has also been asked to participate in a peer exchange conference called “Comeback Communities”. Rutland, White River Junction and Franklin New Hampshire have all been asked to speak to the why, how and what we are all doing to make our communities vibrant. It should prove to be a robust discussion and fantastic opportunity to learn from what others are doing. The conference will be in May and we look forward to sharing more about this with the community soon.
We are in the process of doing our second FACES OF THE RUTLAND REGION CHAMBER and look forward to many of you participating in this publication. We love to hear more about your business than the typical ad and most especially we like to see your faces! This is such a great portrayal of our community and we are proud to share this with everyone we encounter.
Thanks very much for your membership, for being my Real Rutland and for supporting the Chamber in all the ways that you do!
Mary
