Calling All Makers!
A group of regional and local organizations are coming together to hold ther first annual Rutland Mini Make Faire on Saturday August 1st in collaboration with Rutland’s Sidewalk Sale Days.
REDC is in the process of identifying “Makers” in our community to display their talents in exhibit space on Merchants Row. Small home based businesses and hobbyists are encouraged to apply by going to the Rutland Maker’s Faire web page at http://www.rutlandmakers.org/. The group is accepting applications this month, and there is no cost to participate. The goal is to have 20-30 makers displaying and providing demonstrations of what they make.
In today’s busy world we often lose sight of the new entrepreneurs operating out of their basements, garages, kitchens and living rooms. A group of organizations focused on the economic well-being of this region are working collaboratively on several efforts to grow our business base. One of our first focus areas will be providing support for emerging enterprises home-grown in the Rutland Region. The Maker Faire is a step in bringing these businesses together to highlight the interesting and innovative activities that are happening here today.
