The Vermont Department of Labor (VDOL) announced the 2021 Vermont Internship Program recipients. VDOL is awarding a total of $462,500 to 20 organizations located around the State of Vermont. The program provides grants to organizations in an effort to establish a connection between businesses and educational institutions.
The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) received $25,000 in grant money.
CEDRR will partner with Stafford Technical Center (STC) to develop local opportunities for Summer 2021 and place appropriate students with employers who have various needs to build work experience while providing additional staffing for employers during this increasingly challenging time.
Through this partnership, underserved students will have the opportunity to take part in workplace readiness programs while collecting a fair paycheck, learning valuable skills, and provide support to local businesses. Keeping students of this demographic engaged is instrumental in the growth of our state and our local business community. This demographic of students are eager for opportunities and in many cases, is dependent on the extra financial support in the process.
