ABOUT THE ROLE: The Director of IT Applications will lead a team responsible for providing overall system implementation management and usage of all business, EHR, and related software products. Oversight includes system configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, reporting, and documentation while embracing the Core Values of Quality, Appreciation, Creativity and Sustainability in pursuing the Community Health Mission and Vision. This key position will work closely with Community Health leadership to implement and support technologies consistent with the strategic plan and practice transformation initiatives. FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Lead and manages team of Application Support Analysts supporting key organization technologies. Establish and maintain productive relationships with representatives of vendor-supported applications. Works collaboratively with leadership and the Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Maintains departmental compliance with internal and external compliance programs, including those required by various grant initiatives. Seeks Medical Director/medical staff input in matters that effect providers and/or patient care. Seeks provider input in major policies that affect them and involves Medical Director in system design and implementation. Evaluates and supports implementation of niche application technologies to optimize operational efficiencies. Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies and procedures within the team. Evaluate application configuration change requests for impact to all operational and functional areas. Regularly schedules and facilitates Application Support Department meetings (EMR Committee, Cerner Oracle Meetings, Other). Establishes a formal means of accountability for Application Support Department Staff. Displays financial management literacy from conceptual strategies through recommending policy. Ensures budget adherence by Application Support Department. Supports Performance Improvement activities of the organization. Participates in the planning and implementation of Application Support activities in support of the strategic plan. Participates in weekly Director meetings and contributes meaningful input. Brings current and pertinent issues for discussion. Supports special projects/grants for the Organization and Applications. Ensures tracking and timely completion of all requests. Ensures customer service is focus of Application Support staff. Works with staff and leaders to resolve problems and issues and identify future initiatives. Recognizes and analyzes the implications of new and proposed processes and develops workable solutions. Works with management, directors and provider teams in supporting service expansion. Continually evaluate and maintain new and existing policies and procedures to make sure they are current and align with the overall organizational strategic plan. Enthusiastically serve on various organization committees that support the Mission, Vision and Core Values. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or closely related field required. Ten years related to healthcare applications experience and/or training. Demonstrate knowledge of project management experience: setting goals, communicating clear expectations, and motivating team members.
