Comcast Business is running their Annual “Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs” contest for the third year in a row. This contest is a great way for your start-ups or small business members looking to grow to the next level. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to tell Comcast Business how they would invest $30,000 in their business. If you have one of the best entries, you will be eligible to win the $30,000 to implement your ideas. There will be 30 regional $10,000 cash winners who are then eligible for the one of the 6 Grand Prizes of $20,000 cash. The 6 winners will attend a specially-designed daylong event at Comcast headquarters in Philadelphia. Rutland Regional Medical Center offers a variety of community programs to promote health and wellness. Join them for a five part-series designed to help you make lifestyle changes to improve your health and well-being. The workshops feature the basics of nutrition, exercise and evidence-based lifestyle changes. Attendees will learn how to create an effective weight-loss plan, watch a healthy cooking demonstration and discuss fitness with a fitness trainer.

The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center presents two workshops on February 20 as part of the new Sculpture Saturdays. Participants in “Make a Ring” with Joe Montroy will be introduced to skills allowing them to bring home a unique and personal piece of silver jewelry. “Alabaster Carving” with Scott Cahaly will demonstrate the beauty of this translucent and easily worked stone. Vermont Marble Museum is seeking volunteers to provide enthusiastic and energetic guided tours for school groups, tour bus groups, and the general public. Volunteers must have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and an interest in history. The tours are about one hour long and explore the many rooms and exhibits of the museum while explaining important aspects of the Vermont Marble Museum’s history. These are part-time, seasonal positions (May through October) that offer and require flexibility.
