Hello Chamber Members and Friends!
Thank you to all who attended our 119th Annual Meeting on Thursday, Oct 4th at the wonderful Paramount Theatre. We had lots to celebrate and the energy in the room was terrific!
We had the distinct pleasure of honoring Russ Marsan from Carpenter and Costin as Business Leader of the Year! Russ’s commitment to our Community is significant as we find him involved with Come Alive Outside, The Rutland Winterfest, Cairo Shriners, Rutland Town Planning Commission, REDC Entrepreneurial Committee, Chamber Board Member and Better Middlebury Partnership. If you enjoyed the sunflowers at Rutland Regional Medical Center or the Snow Sculpting Contest in Main Street Park or the Green Street Challenge in Downtown Rutland, know that Russ was instrumental in making that happen. His dedication to the revitalization of our region is real and for this we are truly grateful!
We also had the honor of recognizing the first graduating class of the Rutland Leadership Project. The Leadership Project, an initiative of the Rutland Young Professionals, is intended to not only further leadership skills in a professional sense but to also increase those skills in a broader community context – enhancing the ability to solve complex issues we face. These graduates are not only the next leaders within our professional organization but also the next non-profit board members and community problem solvers!
Our year 2 of the Regional Marketing is now under way. We had the opportunity to show the extremely creative stories of people in our region. Visit RealRutland.com to check them out. The website has been revamped and it is a beautiful site to visit with all kinds of information about the people and the region. We will be adding more stories (up to 40 this year) so keep an eye out not only on the website but also on social media and cable TV.
Thank you all for your membership and support! Together we can accomplish great things for our community!
Mary
