Hello Chamber Members,
This is an incredibly exciting time here at the Chamber!
There has been a great deal of focus on our Regional Marketing Initiative and working with Mondo MediaWorks in creating the content that will be our new messaging. I want to thank all the businesses, organizations and individuals that have been willing to help, stop what they are doing and allow us to get that great shot or terrific video. As I travel around the region with the videographer, I can’t help but be proud to be part of this community and I can’t help but notice how beautiful of a place we live and the extraordinary opportunities in this place we are privileged to call home. Don’t miss our annual meeting October 19th, 5:00 at the Paramount Theatre where we will be unveiling to the region, the Marketing Campaign. I promise it will be informative and inspirational!
The 3rd Annual Young Professionals Summit will be held September 9th in Rutland – this is something you won’t want to miss. From their website:
“The Young Professionals Summit of Vermont is an annual, one-day event for Vermonters to network, share ideas and confront issues faced by the state’s young workforce. Equal parts professional development and community action, the summit aims to empower young people to create positive change by connecting them with business leaders, policymakers, and, most importantly, each other”.
Doesn’t that sound like something you want to be part of? Lyle Jepson and I will be presenting on the Marketing Initiative, how we got started, whose involved and where we are headed. We continue to be extremely impressed with our RYP’s and all they do for the community and are happy to support them!
We are looking forward to having a PLACE (Promoting Learning by Activating Community Engagement) Student from Rutland High School join us this fall. PLACE is an internship and mentoring program that seeks to extend and apply education through learning outside the classroom in order to cultivate citizens committed to enriching local and global communities. If you think you and your business would like to host a student or would like more information about this important program, contact Sarah Hagge at (802)770-1235 or [email protected].
The air is getting cooler and soon the leaves will be changing. Check the events page on our website for all the fun fall festivals, art shows, cider days, cultural events that are happening throughout our region over the next 6 weeks. Enjoy the beginnings of fall and notice what a beautiful place we live in.
