When reflecting on the powerful foresight of our founding fathers to create a tradition taking only minutes to display yet carrying memories for a life time and beyond I’m amazed.
The Fourth of July fireworks displays of the past and those projected into the future, were created to celebrate the effort and sacrifice it took and continues to take to be, “The United States of America!”
In my reflection, I am drawn to the all-encompassing emotions of the final verse of our national anthem…
“O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!”
As you gather this year with family and friends take a moment to cherish and be thankful for the freedoms we share. Summon your senses as you look around at the people young and old taking part in this special tradition, and really feel it, so you can relive this special memory when life is unfair…
We invite you to join the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce, as we celebrate with our Fireworks Extravaganza Wednesday July 4, 2018 beginning promptly at 9:45pm!
Thousands of families from all over our county have been gathering at the Vermont State Fairgrounds and surrounding vantage points to watch the “Biggest and Best Fireworks! display for decades!
I want to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for helping us make this extraordinary tradition a reality because there will be four generations of my family waiting anxiously from our special spot.
Wishing you and your families a safe, healthy and happy Independence Day filled with great memories… Chris Shaddock
