Hello Chamber Members,
Lots of great things going on here at the Chamber!
Our Regional Marketing Initiative is under way with the announcement of the chosen marketing firm to happen any day. We were successful in getting requests for funding for the Initiative on several town ballots. If you live in Mendon, Killington, Rutland Town, Clarendon or Middletown Springs, we would appreciate your support! We will be heading out to many other towns throughout the County, so if we haven’t visited you yet, we will be. Click here for our Op Ed piece – please take the time to read about the Initiative!
We are revamping our Membership Directory this year! We are calling it “The Faces of the Rutland Region Chamber”. It will be a beautiful publication of advertorials – or stories I like to call them – of individual businesses with a professional photograph. It can be an individual, a team or a large group. This will give each member an opportunity to tell the business community a little bit about their organization and what they do. We feel the directory will have a long shelf life. If you want more information and want to see the prototype, please contact the Chamber right away!
The Chamber, along with Rutland Economic Development Corp., Rutland Young Professionals, Castleton University, College of St. Josephs are co-hosting a Mayoral Forum on Wednesday Evening March 1st at the College of St. Josephs Tuttle Hall. It should be an interesting format and an opportunity to see where our candidates stand on issues related to the economy and economic development. If you would like to submit a question, please send to [email protected].
I was recently up in Montpelier at the Statehouse meeting with our Rutland County Delegation. I want to share my sentiments of admiration and respect to those who serve our County and bring our regional issues to the State’s stage. Although many are on different isles politically, when it comes to Rutland County, there seems to be a sense of collaboration and truly working toward the common good of our County. We are very fortunate to have this delegation. On Monday morning March 6th,the Chamber and REDC will be co-hosting our next Legislative Breakfast. You will get an opportunity to learn about the things some of our legislators are working on and ask about issues that are important to you. Mark your calendars!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time – I would love to hear from you!
