Ewing the Stark Fisher: CU Bank Gallery Opening Reception

CU Bank Gallery Exhibition: Saturday, October 20th, 2018 – Saturday, December, 1 2018
Reception: October 26th, 5:30-7:30 pm in the C.U. Bank Gallery

This exhibition is a group exhibition of three painters from the surrounding region. From the Rutland artist J.R. Ewing with his bold color palette, to New York State based Roscoe T. Stark self-taught artist with excellent craft and meaning, to Mindy Fisher with her “Ornaglyphs” and her avian explosion of color there is something for everyone to enjoy at the C.U. Bank Gallery.

About the Artists:
-Mindy Fisher hails from New Hampshire but makes her home in Vermont and has exhibited and taught around the United States. Over the past decade she has been creating a series of paintings called “Ornaglyphs”. These surreal, gouache paintings feature a crazy cast of bird-like characters and a hieroglyphic non-language that is open to interpretation.
-Roscoe Tyler Stark resides New York State right across the border. His most current work adds to his continual journey as an artist and perpetual student. The styles, environments, and objects used in his recent paintings are connected to and drawn from his life experience, both the good and the bad.
-J.R. Ewing is a German born seventy year old self-taught painter and has lived in Rutland for 32 years. He works in many different mediums but always finding himself continually drawn back to acrylics. His subject matter ranges from landscapes, animals and abstractions.
